The Mustard from Hell
I must be doing something right when the "Conservative Media Attack of the Day"
concerns my choice of condiment on a burger.
A couple days ago, Joe and I had a hankering for a good 'ol American cheeseburger. I've been wanting to
try out Ray's Hell Burger for some time now, so we fired up The Beast
and headed out to
We waited our turn in line and placed our orders. Joe wanted a Swiss cheeseburger with jalapeno peppers
and ketchup. I wanted a cheddar cheeseburger with a spicy dijon mustard and lettuce/tomato. End of story, right?
The next day, the conservative airwaves were full of phrases like "fancy burger with a very special condiment";
"What kind of man orders a cheeseburger without ketchup but Dijon mustard?"; and "Dijon mustard? I think the president watched just a
little bit too much television as a kid."
And my personal
"That was yesterday, Barack Obama had a hamburger. I don't know what he may do today to prove -- to pass for human."
If this is the best they can come up with, they must like the way I'm handling the economy, the
two wars, the healthcare crisis, etc.
By the way, we both ordered our burgers medium-well. I'm surprised the media didn't interpret this as some ominous
indication of my secret knowledge of an upcoming ground beef E.coli outbreak. I guess that's next
